Where will your cushions sit?

Choose the room setting and the look you would like. We’ll suggest a balanced starting point.

1. Choose the setting
2. Choose the finished look

This is styling guidance rather than a fixed rule. Furniture proportions and personal preference will always shape the final arrangement.

Core cushion sizes

Small details. Different proportions.

Cases are measured seam to seam across the empty cover. Handmade measurements are approximate.

Find your perfect cushion inner

The right size. The right feel.

Your inner affects the cushion’s softness, structure and finished fullness.

1. What size is your cushion case?
2. How would you like it to feel?
Essential or Handmade?Essential Inners are ready-made in standard hollow-fibre or feather sizes and are supplied 2” larger than the case. Cluster fibre, feather and sheep-wool Handmade Inners are made to the required size and are normally supplied 1” larger.

Choosing your set

From one accent
to a complete room.

A good arrangement feels collected rather than overly matched. Repeat one or two colours, vary the scale of pattern and keep enough space for the furniture to remain comfortable.

01

Single

A focal point for a chair, or one generous cushion centred on a bed.

02

Pair

A calm, symmetrical finish for a sofa, bench or pair of chairs.

05

House Set of Five

A fuller estate-room arrangement for a generous sofa, window seat or bed.

Interior styling notes

A considered arrangement

01

Build from the back

Place the largest cushions first to create structure, then layer smaller pieces in front.

02

Connect, don’t match

Repeat one or two colours, but mix plain, patterned and textured fabrics for a collected feel.

03

Vary the pattern scale

Pair a larger motif with a smaller check, stripe or quiet plain so each fabric has room to breathe.

04

Keep it comfortable

Beautiful rooms still need to be lived in. Leave enough usable space and plump cushions regularly.

Bespoke & interior enquiries

Unusual size, shape
or larger quantity?

For bespoke cushion inners, send the empty case measurements taken seam to seam, your preferred filling, quantity and any preference for softness, weight or support.

As a guide, bespoke Handmade Inners are usually made approximately 1” / 2.5cm larger in each direction. Allow approximately 7–10 working days; delivery charges apply.

Frequently asked questions

Useful things to know

Are cushion cases supplied with an inner?

No. Berry & Grouse cushion cases are sold without an inner so you can choose the filling, size and finished feel that best suits the room.

How are cushion cases measured?

Measure the empty cover seam to seam across the front. Piping can make the visible face appear slightly smaller. Handmade measurements are approximate.

Which filling holds its shape best?

Sheep wool offers the firmest structure and strongest shape retention. MicroCluster fibre also recovers well, while feather gives a softer finish and needs regular plumping.

Will cases and inners arrive together?

They may be dispatched separately, particularly when Handmade or bespoke inners form part of the order. No additional delivery is charged unless a separate delivery was specifically requested.

Can bespoke inners be returned?

Bespoke inners made to confirmed measurements or specifications cannot normally be returned for a change of mind. This does not affect your rights if an item is faulty, damaged or not made as agreed.
